Mr. Greene won with 60% of the votes. Now… the SC Democrat Party is crying foul over his surprise victory. Last week, Rep. Clyburn (D-SC) accused the Republican Party of “planting” Greene in the race and financing his non existent campaign. Hmmm…?
Alvin Greene (D) candidate for US House won the Democrat primary in South Carolina last week. In his unorthodox run, Mr. Greene didn’t have a website. He didn’t campaign. He was a relative unknown, unemployed, ex-military guy with shady discharge papers. Oh, did I mention he has a pending felony court date for lude conduct (pornography)? Well, Mr. Greene beat a well-financed, well-known Democrat opponent. 🙂 It’s gets better.
Now the South Carolina Democrats question the validity of the electronic voting machines themselves! Citing possible hacking since there is no audit trail for voters or the Board of Elections to verify votes cast versus votes recorded. They now accuse the SC GOP of manipulating the software, either remotely or manually. They cry further over the lack of transparency in the voting system. The outcry is supported by accusations, speculation and anecdotal long-term, and well known, problems with these electronic machines.
You may be wonder why I’m making this case in detail seemingly building the Democrats case for them? I have made these same charges against electronic voting machines in the past. 🙂 Yes, I have. Many books have been written about the potential for manipulation of these machines. I have 3 books on my own bookshelf. Many electronic voting machine makers do not allow access to the code (proprietary info) that controls the counting of votes, thus… these machines can count in various ways, not all ways line up with the votes cast. Nonetheless, they are undetectable if you can’t look at the code.
It could be easy to program the code to count all Republican votes at 100%, and then count all Democrat votes at 85% Democrat and transfer 15% to the Republicans. It’s an easy “if-then” and “count” loop to setup within the code. (Example: Every 5th Democrat vote cast, transfers to the Republicans.) There are endless ways to cheat the system not just my example.
I applaud the Democrats for calling for a full investigation of the election. I support their concerns for the potential and undetectable manipulation of votes! I hope there is a full investigation, so that, once and for all, (with the help of the Democrats) there can be a real solutions to this “known” problem. I too question the validity of electronic voting machines.
Personally, I like a hand-marked paper ballot that is hand-counted with judges’ eyewitness approval. Therefore there are 3 people counting votes: one election staffer, one Democrat judge, and one Republican judge.
Regarding the other charge by the Democrats, Mr. Greene was a Republican plant. I don’t think so. The Republicans have a hard enough time getting their candidates elected, electing Greene would have been a miracle.
