NC Facing 40 Hour Deadline

February 9, 2011

Dear North Carolina Friend of Liberty,

Good news!

Your calls, emails, and faxes are having an effect!

Word has gotten out about the NC Farmer’s Freedom Act, Glen Bradley’s bill to nullify S. 510, Richard Burr’s Federal Food Takeover.

Carolina Journal’s Sara Burrows lists it as an upcoming Bill to Watch, along with initiatives to stop involuntary annexation and repeal the cap on charter schools.

I was asked to write a column describing the backstory and status of the bill for Pundit House last Wednesday.

The left-wing blog Progressive Pulse got in on the action by defending Richard Burr’s “bi-partisan” Food Takeover Bill and condemning Glen Bradley as an “ultra right-wing fire breather.”

And last Friday, CNBC and Bloomberg News picked up an Associated Press story about North Carolina joining the nullification movement, which profiled Glen Bradley’s agenda to restore the Constitutional Order.

Yes, it seems just about everyone has heard about Glen Bradley and the NC Farmer’s Freedom Act.  Everyone, that is, except… NC House Speaker Thom Tillis.

Speaker Tillis was quoted in the CNBC and Bloomberg stories linked above as saying, “…he wasn’t familiar with Cleveland and Bradley’s proposals, but said they would be vetted within GOP ranks to see whether they conform with broader Republican goals.”

Not familiar with?  Vetted to see if they conform with broader Republican goals?

What more important goal could NC Republicans have than defending our Constitution?

If you want to put the federal government back in its constitutional box and tell the FDA to get out of your kitchen, sign Campaign for Liberty’s petition to nullify the Food Takeover here.  Then find your NC House and Senate representation here and tell them to cosponsor the NC Farmer’s Freedom Act.

Also, since he claims not to have heard from you, call Speaker Thom Tillis at (919) 773-3451 and email him at Thom.Tillis@ncleg.net and tell him to cosponsor the Farmer’s Freedom Act and bring it to the floor for a roll call vote as soon as possible.

Representative Bradley needs to get cosponsors quickly to prevent the FDA’s goons from swooping through North Carolina’s farms and Co-ops like they did in California.  He has 40 hours to get as many cosponsors as possible.

Please sign our petition and contact your representatives by Friday, February 11th to ensure we build unstoppable momentum!

About Christine

I believe in the CONSERVATIVE principles and values of the Republican Party as they are written, and not how they are currently practiced by today's RINO's. Smaller government, lower taxes, more personal responsibility, states' rights, free market capitalism, and less government intrusion in our lives!

Got this alert as well and will make contacts. The “Food Safety” Act should be nullified. Also let know — got word they are voting on Patriot Act renewal in House again today — see comments under Patriot Act Renewal? post

  4. Mark says:

Some of the senators are concerned as it might “grow state gov’t”. They say they are working on the bill. Continue to call and ask support for the bill.

The key here is to get the new GOP members to listen to “we the people” and not “we the establishment party”. This bill was put forth by none other than Richard Burr…who is the highest ranking member serving for the GOP in the state of NC. Therefore, this bill separates the “Party People” from the “People People” if you know what I mean. The question I have is: “Will you serve the party (GOP) or will you serve the people?”

Christine you should be able to find me on facebook…actually I think I’ll just attach it there. Thanks, Mark Hopp NC iCaucus director.

I have some information dug up about the money trail regarding the last election cycle if anyone wants it they can email me and I’ll send it. I don’t see a way I can attach it here. C
