OUT OF 159 DELEGATES ELIGIBLE TO VOTE FROM THE PRECINCT MEETINGS, ONLY 136 DELEGATES ATTENDING.
Phil Ingle beat me by 83/53 votes for Chair (many after before this vote)
Sam Yearick beat me by 20 votes for Vice-Chair
Clay McCreary ran uncontested for 2nd-Vice-Chair
Gary Whisnant only defeated Shirley Kanode by 6 votes for Secretary (many more left after this vote)
Tim Hawkins ran uncontested and is now Treasurer
We offered 16 smaller gov’t, lower taxes, less spending people up for the At-Large Members spots but only gained two seats (me and Steve Bogdan). The other 18 At-Large members are basically the same people as before.
Smaller gov’t, lower taxes, less spending people now control 7 precincts and hold two At-Large positions within the Caldwell County Republican Party. 9 out of 87 is just over 10%. 🙂

Burke County held their GOP Convention on Saturday as well. After 2 1/2 hours the Richard Epley was voted Chairman of the party, defeating me by 6 votes. Laurie Moody was elected Vice Chair with Ken Carrico voted 2nd Vice Chair. I remain involved as Precinct Chair for Linville 2.

Hi, Carole! It means that you have no specific job, BUT you are permitted to vote in matters of business at the Executive Committee meetings. 🙂
