NC Gov Signs Voter ID Law; The South Is Effected by Stronger Election Laws

While some of us TEA Partiers think the Voter ID bill didn’t go far enough. I’m happy with it after reading this Dem spin on the “controversial” legislation. THANK YOU GOVERNOR, NC Senate, and NC House! From all of us that have stood out in a hot parking lot, a cold and windy parking lot, a rain stormed parking lot to pass out campaign material for 17 days of early voting, we thank you for the 10 day gift!!  http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-politics/wp/2013/08/12/north-carolina-governor-signs-extensive-voter-id-law/  The only thing that’s controversial is college students will have the ability to vote using their college ID. If we can fix that in the next couple years, that would be great.

Another Voter ID article, but this one effects all of the South. In a larger than expected crowd of Southern Legislatures, they heard all about how the June 15th SCOTUS ruling will effect them. DOJ is suing Texas for their voter changes. The drama…. It’s just not too much to ask voters to show photo ID before they cast a vote. A VOTE!?  The most important civic act we will probably ever do in our lives.  Remember: Elections have consequences.  You have to show ID when you buy Clariton, tobacco, and alcohol. What’s the big deal? Well, if you’re trying to perpetuate a fraud on the system one questionable vote at a time, then photo ID would be a hindrance.  Stop whining and show your ID.  http://www.politico.com/story/2013/08/voting-rights-act-next-steps-95446.html ‪#‎askmeformyid‬
