Update: We will collect food at the meeting Tuesday night.
We do not have permission from the grocery store to hold the food drive yet. Therefore, we’ll collect food (cans, dry beans, and rice) at the TEA Party meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 15th.

Show Govt We Can Care For Our Own Neighbors!
Why? We can help our neighbors in need. WIC (Women, Infants, Children) program is not being funded during the gov’t shutdown. WIC is federally funded. We are going to do a food drive and give it to Yokefellow to support their mission, because demand will probably be much greater than before. Nicole had the great idea to do a food drive for Yokefellows food bank in Lenoir.
If you would like to volunteer at the table collecting food (mostly cans), please call Judy 758-0635,of these days. This is very easy and very rewarding. The last time I was involved in a local food drive, people were so generous and kind. It really makes you feel good. The cans collected will be given to Yokefellows for local distribution.
Nicole will post a final article with location as soon as we have permission.
