8/25 – Candidate for Superintendent of Public Instruction Rosemary Fernandez-Stein will address the Caldwell County Republican Women at Bud’s Diner on Hwy 18 in Lenoir at 7pm (6pm for dinner). Stein has strong opinions on Common Core and the developmental appropriateness of the curriculum. She is a pediatrician and sees the emotional damage done by Common Core on a daily basis.

NC Rep Edgar Starnes retires and his seat is up for grabs

Rep. Edgar Starnes retired 1/13/15 to take a position with NC STATE TREASURER JANET COWELL (D) as Legislative Liason. The new person must take the seat by 1/27/15 for an important vote. Caldwell County GOP (CCGOP) is having a closed door Executive Committee meeting “soon” to vote on the appointee. The CCGOP didn’t want to discuss this issue at their last regularly scheduled meeting on 1/13/15, even through all parties were present. Continue reading →
