Defense of Marriage rally in Wilkesboro, May 5th

On the 5th of May, the Saturday immediately preceding the upcoming primary election, concerned citizens of Wilkes and neighboring counties, as well as neighboring states (believe it or not–HEY DAVE and SARAH!!), are gathering for a March For The Marriage Amendment and Rally in Wilkesboro, NC.  There will be music and outstanding speakers and, believe me, YOU DON”T WANT TO MISS THIS ONE!!

At 10:00 the march will begin at the vacant lot across from the OLD YMCA, now Cornerstone Church, and the Myers Tire Store which is located at 400 East Main St, Wilkesboro, NC.  We will march through the town of Wilkesboro (Please bring your signs and chairs as well as umbrellas for protection from the sun for the afternoon festivities J)   For directions, click on this link and see the map here:

At 12 noon, all citizens, whether they participated in the march or not, are invited to enjoy the afternoon with Nashville recording star Bruce Bellott, Dr. Ron Baity, Pastors Phillip Moore and Larry Phillips and more.  Krista LaPlante will sing our National Anthem and Linda Joines will be performing a couple of her favorite patriotic songs as well.  Our Canadian friend, Ralph Rains, will speak briefly about what has happened in his beloved country after homosexual marriage was approved there.  Friends, you don’t want to miss this.  Hey, I got word today that an entire choir is planning to come and sing!!  There is no telling what other surprises may occur!  Also, there will be food and drinks available for sale.

This event is not only making a statement that we intend to obey the laws that God has given us concerning marriage but is a celebration of the fellowship and joy that comes from obeying and serving Him.

Folks, I can’t tell you how important it is for you to come and fellowship with us on the 5th.  It is now time to make a stand for what Christians profess belief in and stop the slide into Gomorrah.  Almighty God is not our butler, He wants us to turn this nation back to Him.  Whatever plans you may have made, cancel them and ‘PLEAD THE 5th’!!

Don’t you think it is time for YOUR CHURCH to get involved in the turning of this nation back to God?  Pass the word this Sunday to your congregation and invite everyone to come out and enjoy this day of worship and praise and the things that are good about America!!  You’ll be glad you did!!

Remember to vote FOR the Amendment on 8 May.

I believe in the CONSERVATIVE principles and values of the Republican Party as they are written, and not how they are currently practiced by today's RINO's. Smaller government, lower taxes, more personal responsibility, states' rights, free market capitalism, and less government intrusion in our lives!

  1. Holly says:

Please read. I will assure u I’m not trying to undermine God. And that is the only sentence that says anything about religion in this reply. I just want to look at the law and regulations. And would lobe to here back about anything you think I got wrong or right.

I’m just writing to let u know it’s wonderful to be passionate about something. But the truth is,

Yes, we will be banning civil unions and domestic partnerships.

Same sex marriage is already banned. Has been since 1996.

It will NOT however allow NC to “not recognize” couples that move here after becoming a legally recognized union in the state which they came from. NC will have to give them all the rights and privileges that it gives married couples.

The only thing federal statutes will allow NC to ignore is “same sex marriage”.

Sorry to bust ur bubble. But the amendment is redundant as far as same sex marriage and the rest of it is unconstitutional. The whole thing is about discrimination. That what ur voting FOR. I’ll b voting for equal rights.
