PLEASE CALL ASAP!
Republicans campaigned on preserving our elections with a Voter ID bill. Now it’s losing steam! Please call your Representative at let them knew how important it is to show picture ID at the polling place.
Preserving free and fair elections is a cornerstone of freedom and liberty in a Republic like we have in America.
One issue that is getting a lot of media and constituent attention is that the poor and elderly will not be allowed to vote because they don’t have driver’s licenses! That’s silly! Even if you don’t have a NCDL, everyone has a state issue NC ID. If you want to rent a public housing unit, you need ID. They have it. If you want to rent a movie from Blockbuster, you need ID. They have it. If you have a bank account, you have picture ID. They have it. If you shop at Wal-mart and pay by check, you show ID.
Identification Card
Any resident of North Carolina can be issued a special identification card provided he or she does not have a valid driver license. The same proofs of age and identity are required as for a driver license, and just like the driver license, the ID card is valid for a period of four to eight years, depending on your birthdate. Eventually all ID cards will be valid for a period of five years, beginning at age 20. The cost is $10.00.
~~Per NCDOT website http://www.ncdot.org/dmv/moving/withinnc/dlandIDcards.htmlVoter Registration
“If you cannot supply an acceptable form of identification for Proof-of-Residence, your registration application cannot be fully processed until the required information is provided.”
~~Per State Board of Elections http://www.sboe.state.nc.us/content.aspx?ID=32 There is a long list of “acceptable” ID, but doesn’t everyone have either a Driver’s License or an NC State ID? Really.

These men want the bill to pass this bill, but they have not heard for our side. They are only being contacted by Organizing for America (formerly ACORN), illegal immigration groups, and other far Left groups who advocate for the large constituency of questionably eligible voters.
Sent to Henderson Co. 9-12 list tonight…THANK YOU FOR THE HEADS UP- YOU GO GIRL!!!!
It is simply not true that everyone has a state-issued ID and I don’t want to live in a country where we are required to carry and show one like some sort of Nazi police state. I am against this bill. It wastes millions of dollars to combat an imaginary problem. Stop believing the lies about massive voter fraud. They are not true, It’s just an excuse for the government to intrude even more in our lives. That money should be spent on helping small businesses and creating jobs.
NC needs a picture ID in order to vote. The excuse that it will cost millions is a bunch of crap. We are wasting millions on illegals some of whom are voting. No pic ID, No vote-pretty damn simple! A voter ID card must have a picture, without it, what good is it?
Sounds like more government intrusion into our lives! Where is the OUT-CRY from the small government advocates? Better watch the Republicians TOO!!!!
